Crossfire Expansion Art

Development is all done for the first meaty Crossfire expansion, with art starting to flow in: Mission Expansion Pack 1: High Caliber Ops.

Below you’ll find the text for an Obstacle card from that expansion, along with the art notes:

Ob02 - [Weapons] Exiled Prince - Elf
Mechanic: FLIPPED: The nuyen value of each other obstacle is increased by +1. (Place <1 nuyen> tokens on those obstacles as a reminder.)
Flavor Text: "The only thing more annoying than high-falutin’ elves wandering around outside their leafy kingdom is the suckers who bend over backward to impress them.“
Art Notes: This is an image of a legendary Shadowrun character – Green Lucifer, exiled elven royalty and leader of the elven street/biker gang known as the “ANCIENTS”. Lucifer is a tall, slender good looking Caucasian elf with a bright green Mohawk 24cm tall. He wears biker leathers (like Harley Davidson biker, not racing bike leathers) with studded 2cm spikes across the shoulders and in a strip down both arms. What’s more he always has a fighting sword on a scabbard strapped to his back, which he uses to kill anyone who dares challenge his leadership of the gang (he never loses.) He rides a Harley Davidson street chopper with stretched forks, combat spikes and lots of chrome. He also tends toward makeshift thrones where he holds court like a wrathful king when negotiating with outsiders. I don’t care if you put him on his bike, or a throne, or even zoom in close up so we only see him from the chest up – just make sure he looks totally diabolical, evil, and add a dash of seriously psychotic and you’ll have his personality perfect.

And here’s what the fabulous Victor Moreno turned in for a pre-final illustration.

I’m not sure the look on his face could more perfectly capture this character. In fact, the only notes back to the artist on this particular card was “need an Ancient’s logo.”

I do so love Victor’s Shadowrun art.
